Punta Contreras is a headland on the west coast of Anvers Island in the Palmer Archipelago west of the Antarctic Peninsula . It forms the northeastern extension of the northern boundary of the entrance to Perrier Bay .
Chilean scientists named it in 1962 after Julio Contreras Aravena, a participant in the 2nd Chilean Antarctic Expedition (1947–1948).
