Punta Rapa Nui is a headland in the north of Livingston Island in the archipelago of the South Shetland Islands . On the west side of Cape Shirreff , the northern branch of the John Paul II peninsula , it is located around 280 m west-northwest of Cerro Gaviota .

Scientists of the 45th Chilean Antarctic Expedition (1990–1991) named it after its resemblance to a moss statue on Easter Island (Rapa Nui).
