Punta Valparaíso ( Spanish in Argentina Punta Vieyetes ) is the southern foothills of Lemaire Island before the Danco Coast of Graham Lands on the Antarctic Peninsula . It is located 5 km east of the southern end of Lautaro Island .
Chilean scientists named it after the Chilean port city of Valparaíso . The namesake of the Argentine name has not been passed down.
