Qin Wenchen

Qin Wenchen ( Chinese  秦文琛 , Pinyin Qín Wénchēn ; born October 29, 1966 in Ordos , Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region of the People's Republic of China ) is a Chinese composer .

Life

Qin was born in Inner Mongolia. At the age of nine he was taught Chinese folk music. In 1987 he began studying music at the Shanghai Conservatory in the composition classes of Xu Shuya and Zhu Jian'er . After graduating in 1992, he taught at the Central Music Conservatory in Beijing . In 1998 he received a scholarship from the DAAD and came to Germany to the Folkwang Hochschule Essen, where he graduated with distinction in 2001. Since his return to Beijing (2001) he has been teaching again at the Central Conservatory and composing for many international music institutions. Qin has received several awards at composition competitions in Germany, the USA, Japan and Taiwan.
