The Qingdao University ( Chinese  青岛大学 , pinyin Qīngdǎo Daxue ), commonly known Qingda ( 青大 ), a university is Qingdao , Province Shandong of China . It is distributed over five locations within the city limits.

history

In 1909, the German-Chinese University ( 青岛 特别 高等 专门 学堂 , Qīngdǎo tèbié gāoděng zhuānmén xuétáng  - "Qingdao Special University ") was founded as a forerunner institution. With the Japanese conquest , the university was dissolved and the students were transferred to the German Medical and Engineering School for Chinese in Shanghai .

In 1987 the (old) Qingdao University with 15 faculties was founded. Their present form dates from 1993 through the merger with three other institutions: the established 1939 Medical College of Qingdao, the Institute was founded in 1950 for textile sciences Shandong ( 山东纺织工学院 , Shandong fǎngzhī gōng Xueyuan ) and the 1951 founded Teachers College Qingdao ( 青岛师范专科学校 , Qīngdǎo shīfàn zhuānkē xuéxiào ).

Schools and Studies

The university continues to maintain a strong profile in the education of medical professionals and materials science . Apart from that, she has degrees in a variety of scientific disciplines. The German Studies Faculty is considered to be the best in Shandong.
