The Qionglai Mountains ( 邛 崍 山脈 / 邛 崃 山脉 , Qiónglái Shānmài ) or Qionglai Shan ( 邛 崍 山 / 邛 崃 山 , Qiónglái Shān ) are part of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau .
It borders the Sichuan Basin (Red Basin) on its western edge and forms its border with the western Sichuan plateau ( 川西 高原 , Chuānxī Gāoyuán ). It is the watershed between the Min Jiang and Dadu He rivers . It consists mainly of granite , basalt, and limestone . It extends north-south and includes the mountains Bawang Shan , Jiajin Shan , Erlang Shan, and Balang Shan . The highest peak is the Siguniang Mountains or Siguniang Shan ( 四姑娘山 , Sìgūniang Shān ) at 6250 meters in the border area of the Xiaojin and Wenchuan counties . Giant pandas and snub-nosed monkeys live on its territory.
