Qiu Chuji

Qiu Chuji ( Chinese  丘處機  /  邱 处 机 ; born 1148 ; died 1227 , also called Changchun (长春 / 長春) or Changchun zi長春 子) was the fifth patriarch of Quanzhen Daoism and a great traveler. He was one of the "Seven Truthfuls of the North" among the disciples of Wang Chongyang . He was the founder of the Daoist Dragon Gate School ( Chinese  龍 門派  /  龙 门派 , Pinyin Longmen pai , English The Dragon Gate Sect ), a school of Quanzhen - Daoism (Quanzhen dao).

Act

Where by his pupil, the Taoist Li Zhichang ( Chinese  李志常 ) (1193-1278), written travelogue Changchun Zhenren Xiyou ji (record of the journey of the Taoist alchemists Changchun in the West), who also briefly as xiyouji (record of the journey in the West), through his journey through Central Asia to the Mongolian ruler Genghis Khan , one also learns a lot about his life.

Genghis Khan had called him to find out about the secrets of long life. The Quanzhen school owes its widespread popularity to this connection to the Mongol rulers.
