Popper is a message store for the Post Office Protocol . Popper was developed at the University of California, Berkeley .

Popper works on many flavors from Unix to z / OS and is combined with Sendmail , for example , also as part of other products.

Qpopper is an advancement of Popper published by Qualcomm . It is based on widespread legwork. The compilation results in an executable file called popper . Qualcomm offered the Eudora Internet Mail Server under the same version number .

functionality

When Popper is queried by a mail user agent , Popper first fills his own data memory with the incoming e-mails and then transfers them to the user agent.

Stages of development

Popper has been supporting Kerberos since 1994 .

In 1995 support for MMDF was added.

Version 3.0 brought support for PAM .

With version 4.0 support for TLS and with version 4.1 support for IPv6 was added.
