The quarter was a Swedish volume and grain measure .

The dimensional chain for dry goods (grain measure) was

  • 1 ton = 2 spans = 4 half spans = 8 quarter spans = 32 kappar = 56 jugs = 112 stoop = 448 quarters = 1792 place = 7386 Parisian cubic inches = 146 3/8 liters

Exceptions as a cumulative measure (accumulated, not deleted):

  • 1 Quartier of Malt = 19 2/3 Parisian cubic inches = 2/5 liters
  • 1 quarter of grain = 18 3/5 Parisian cubic inches about 1/3 liter
