August Franz Friedrich Count and Lord zu Castell-Remlingen (* July 31, 1705 ; † May 16, 1767 in Castell ) was ruler of the Grafschaft Castell from 1709 and 1717 to 1767 . He shared the rule with his brothers Karl Friedrich Gottlieb , Wolfgang Georg II. And Ludwig Friedrich .

The county before August Franz Friedrich

Before the rule of Count August Franz Friedrich, there was a split into two lines in Castell that had been carried out in the course of the 16th century. The Counts of Castell-Rüdenhausen had their residences in Wiesenbronn and Rüdenhausen , while their relatives of the Counts of Castell-Remlingen were in Castell and Remlingen. As a result, the dominion was divided and exposed to the Thirty Years' War of the 17th century even more defenseless.

Under the predecessors of August Franz Friedrich, the Remlingen line had been split into two parts of the country, the reconstruction of the destroyed areas and the resettlement of the decimated population were pushed. In addition, the counts oriented themselves towards the larger rulers in the area and began to take on other representative posts in the administration. With Count Friedrich Magnus , the tradition of pursuing a military career began.

Life

Very little is known about the Count's life. He was born on July 31, 1705 as the penultimate child of Count Wolfgang Dietrich and his second wife Dorothea Renata Countess of Zinzendorf and Pottendorf . After the early death of his father in 1709 he was initially under the guardianship of Count Friedrich Eberhard zu Hohenlohe-Kirchberg and his wife.

August Franz Friedrich went to study in Frankfurt an der Oder and studied there from 1724 to 1726. He then traveled to the Holy Roman Empire and the Netherlands on a cavalier tour . Together with his older half-brother Karl Friedrich Gottlieb and the brothers Wolfgang Georg II and Ludwig Friedrich, he then took control of the county. On May 16, 1767, August Franz Friedrich Graf and Herr zu Castell-Remlingen died in Castell.

Marriage and offspring

August Franz Friedrich married Countess Luise Henriette von Pückler in Branitz on July 15, 1737. He had a daughter with her who died shortly after the birth.
