The Queen Sofia Mount ( English ; Spanish Monte Reina Sofia ) is a 274 m high mountain on Livingston Island in the archipelago of the South Shetland Islands . It rises 1.3 km south to west of Ballester Point , 2.24 km southwest of Charrúa Ridge , 2.85 km west of Napier Peak , 2.8 km northwest of Moore Peak and 0.8 km south-southeast of the Spanish Juan Carlos -I. Station on.
Spanish scientists mapped it in 1991 and named it after the Spanish Queen Sophia (* 1938). The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee translated the name into English in 2003
