Questions is the name of a Founded in 2000 Hardcore band from the Brazilian São Paulo .
history
Questions was founded in São Paulo in February 2000. In 2001, with the support of the media production company Toro Production, owned by guitarist Menna, the band created an hour-long documentary about the hardcore scene in their hometown and featured three pieces on the film's soundtrack. After the release of the first album Resista! In 2004 bassist and drummer were exchanged. In the follow-up album Fight for What You Believe , released in 2007 , the band relied on collaborations with the Brazilian metal scene; Silvio Golfetti von Korzus played guitar on one song, Igor Cavalera drums on another song. For the 2007 album Rise Up , today's bassist Hélio Suzuki joined the band as part of a further line-up change, and a second guitarist was employed on an experimental basis. Also in 2007 the band completed a European tour with 42 concerts in 18 countries. In 2013 and 2015 Questions played at the Ieperfest . On the 2013 released EP Out of Society , the band worked again with guest musicians, so with Andrew Kline from Strife and Nick Jett from Terror ; Former agnostic front guitarist Matt Henderson and again Igor Calavalera played the 2015 album Pushed out ... of Society . In 2017 Questions played another European tour and performed at various festivals.
Style and reception
Questions play hardcore with strong metal influences, as is common in New York hardcore . A high proportion of elements of Thrash Metal is noticeable . Lyrically, Questions argue against racism and homophobia, among other things. The German-language magazine AllSchools certified the debut album Resista! that it sounds like the early biohazards and includes everything "that is currently still attractive about hardcore". The music on the album is "real and sweat-drenched hardcore of the past decade". In a review of the album Pushed out ... of Society, the Ox-Fanzine described the band's music as "old-school hardcore" without a focus on mosh parts and made comparisons to Madball . The magazine criticized the dialect of singer Andrade as well as a poor production of the album.
