The Quillayute River is a river in Clallam County in northwest Washington state .
The river is created by the confluence of the Sol Duc River with the Bogachiel River west of Forks . The Quillayute River flows westwards as a wide river with little gradient until it flows into the Pacific Ocean at La Push after just nine kilometers . Due to its tributaries, it has the largest catchment area in Clallam County, in addition to the Bogachiel and Sol Duc Rivers, there are above all the Calawah and Dickey River , which flows in from the right just before its confluence with the Pacific.
Because of its short length, the tides are noticeable in the Quillayute River. The rocky island of James Island lies in front of its mouth .
