The Bogachiel River is a river on the Olympic Peninsula in Washington state .

The 75 km long river rises on the southwest slopes of the 1668 m high Bogachiel Peak in Olympic National Park and flows westward through the national park. In the Hoh Rainforest , the North Fork flows into the Bogachiel River from the north and Tumwata Creek from the south . After the river has left the national park, it flows northwest, US Highway 101 follows the course of the river. About eleven kilometers after the small Bogachiel State Park on the north bank, the Calawah River flows in from the north ; after a further twelve kilometers it joins the Sol Duc River to form the Quillayute River , which flows into the Pacific at La Push after a few kilometers . Much of the river flows through jungle or wooded areas. It is popular with anglers for its rainbow trout . The Bogachiel River Trail , a wilderness trail , runs on the north bank of the river through Olympic National Park.
