Râpa Roșie ( German  Red Gorge ) is an IUCN Category III nature reserve in the Alba district in Romania .

description

The geological reserve is located in the extreme southwest of the Zekesch Highlands (Podișul Secașelor) on the right bank of the Secaș - a right tributary of the Sebeș -, three kilometers north of the city of Sebeș (about 2 km north of the Romanian A1 ).

The Little Canion, as the Râpa Roșie is popularly known, was created by wind and water erosion. The Râpa Roșie nature reserve extends over a length of 800 meters on an area of ​​10 or 24 hectares, according to various statements.

The remains of a skeleton of sauropods were found on the area of ​​the nature reserve .
