The Réserve partial de la Kourtiagou is located in southeast Burkina Faso in the municipality of Logobou ( Tapoa Province ) between the W National Park and the Arly National Park . The Réserve partial de la Kourtiagou has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site as part of the WAP National Park complex since 2017 . The reserve owes its name to the Kourtiagou, a tributary of the Pendjari , which represents the western border. In the east, the R7 road from Tansarga to Banikoara in Benin forms the border with the National Park W. In the south, the protected area extends to the border with Benin.

In the Réserve partielle de la Kourtiagou there is a typical northern Sudanese savanna vegetation. Eastern foothills of the Atakora chain as well as vegetation accompanying the river on Pendjari and Kourtiagou enrich the habitat diversity.
