The Réserve partial de Pama is located in southeast Burkina Faso . It was founded in 1955 and covers 223,500 hectares. In the east it borders on other protected areas (Arli and Singou), in the south on the Pendjari , which forms the border with the Beninese Pendjari National Park and in the west it extends to the road N18 from Fada N ' Gourma to the Beninese border, which is also where Pama is located. The protected area is part of the trinational and cross-border WAP national park complex . As part of this national park complex, the Réserve partial de Pama has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2017 .

flora

In the Réserve partielle de Pama there is a typical north Sudanese savannah vegetation, a total of 450 species of flowering plants are known for the reserve, the species-richest families are grasses and legumes . Among the species occurring here, Afzelia africana and Vitellaria paradoxa are also on the IUCN's red list .

fauna

Large mammals include elephants , hippos , lions and leopards , as well as various species of antelope, including roan antelope , West African hartebeest , waterbuck , bushbuck , kob and oribi .
