Río Grande is a district of the village of Rodeo Colanzulí in northwest Argentina . It belongs to the department of Iruya in the province of Salta and is located near the village of Iruya , between the districts of Colanzulí and Campo Carreras belonging to Rodeo Colanzulí , with which it is connected via the unsurfaced road Ruta Provincial 165-S . It is around 2.5 km to Colanzulí and 2 km to Campo Carreras.
Two 40 m deep gullies run through the Río Grande and carry water from November to April. The district between the two channels is called Campo Trigal . Location: 22 ° 52 ' S , 65 ° 13' W .
Río Grande is part of Finca Santiago , the first community property in Argentina. The place has an infirmary with a radiotelephone.
There is a bus connection between Río Grande and Iruya via Ruta Provincial 133 . The bus stops at the Pie de la Cuesta stop . You can walk to Río Grande from Iruya in around four hours.
