The Río Juanambú is an approx. 105 km long left tributary of the Río Patía in the Departamento de Nariño in southern Colombia .

River course

The Río Juanambú rises 20 km east of the city of Pasto in the Páramo de Bordoncillo in the extreme south of the Central Cordillera at an altitude of about 3400  m . From there it initially flows 15 km to the east before turning 25 km to the north. The river then flows in a predominantly north-westerly direction. At river kilometer 22 the Río Pasto flows into the Río Juanambú coming from the south. The Río Juanambú finally flows into the Río Patía.

Hydrology and catchment area

The mean discharge of the Río Juanambú is 58 m³ / s. The catchment area covers an area of ​​around 2090 km².
