The Reventazón ( Spanish Río Reventazón ) is a river in Costa Rica . It arises from the confluence of the Orosi and Aguacaliente in the Cachí reservoir, then flows mainly in a north-easterly direction and flows into the Parismina a few kilometers before reaching the Caribbean Sea . The city of Puerto Limón is about 40 km southeast of the estuary.

The catchment area of ​​the Reventazón covers 2818 (or 2,950) km². The specified length is 145 (or 152 or 180) km. It flows through the provinces of Cartago and Limón .

The source river Orosi has its source at Cerro de la Muerte , a 3,491 m high mountain in the Cordillera de Talamanca .
