Río Segundo is a city in central Argentina , 35 kilometers southeast of Córdoba in the Río Segundo department in the center of the province of Córdoba . It is located on the north bank of the Río Xanaes and has 18,155 inhabitants, together with the neighboring town of Pilar there are 30,643.
history
The city was founded in 1883 as a result of the railway line built in that year and is today primarily an industrial center, in which mainly agricultural products are processed.
Attractions
Río Segundo owns the famous archaeological museum Aníbal Montes , which exhibits several finds from the pre-colonial period. These belong to the Sanavirones culture (Pampa plain east of Córdoba) and the Comechingones culture (from the Sierras de Córdoba ). Also worth seeing are the chapel and the peanut factory from around 1900.
