Rózsa Farkas

Rózsa Farkas (* 1971 in Budapest ) is a Hungarian cimbalom player .

Life

Farkas began playing the piano at the age of eight, but switched to the cimbalom at twelve. She took lessons at the Béla Bartók Music Academy in Budapest. At the age of 16, she made her debut at the Teatro La Fenice opera house in Venice , where she gave guest appearances for a month with her cimbalom teacher Ágnes Szakály . In 1993 she successfully completed her music studies in cimbalom at the Franz Liszt Music Academy .

She regularly gave concerts with Ágnes Szakály. The duo has appeared on radio and television and has made recordings. As a soloist she has worked with the MÁV Symphony Orchestra, the Budapest Festival Orchestra, the Hungarian Radio Orchestra, the National Hungarian Symphony Orchestra, the Klangforum Wien , the Milan Verdi Orchestra and the Sjællands Symfoniorkester in Copenhagen .

In addition to classical music, a special focus of her work is contemporary Hungarian music. Works by Kamilló Lendvay, József Sári , Máté Hollós, Attila Reményi , Péter Durkó, Miklós Lukács , Balázs Horváth, Mária Antal and József Bujtás can be heard in their program and on their recordings .

Appreciation

She received two Annie Fischer scholarships , three times the Artisjus-díj Prize and once the Liszt Ferenc-díj Prize .
