Rudiger Ditz

Rüdiger Ditz (born June 2, 1964 ) is a German journalist .

Education and career path

Ditz studied history , German and economics . He volunteered at the daily newspaper Hamburger Morgenpost , where he was then employed as a local and political editor. He then worked as an editor for the short-lived digital daily newspaper project ICE-press , which Spiegel-Verlag had launched together with Deutsche Bahn, then switched to Spiegel Online as business editor . In April 2000 he became managing editor, in January 2003 he was deputy editor-in-chief Mathias Müller von Blumencron . Ditz succeeded him in May 2008 after Müller von Blumencron became editor-in-chief of the printed magazine Der Spiegel in February 2008 together with Georg Mascolo . At first, Ditz held his management position at Spiegel Online together with Wolfgang Büchner ; when he moved to dpa in 2009 , Ditz became the sole editor-in-chief. In February 2014, he switched to the printed mirror as managing editor . In May 2015, several media reported that the publisher had agreed on a separation with Ditz and that he had already vacated his office at Spiegel-Verlag. By October 1, 2015 at the latest, he will be the online coordinator of the editor-in-chief of the editorial network Germany of the publishing company Madsack , which produces national content for the media group in Hanover.
