The RŽD series 2ЭС7 (German transcription 2ES7 ) of the Russian Railways (RŽD) is an eight-axle Russian two-section freight locomotive for railways, electrified with alternating current . It has traction drive motors as three-phase drive motors , the power transmission takes place on the basis of four-quadrant actuators . The locomotive was developed by the Russian company group Sinara in cooperation with Siemens . In practice, the locomotive can be called a variant of the RŽD series 2ЭС10 .
History of creation and operation
Construction and technical facilities
In practice, the locomotive is a further development of the RŽD series 2ЭС10 for use on railway lines electrified with 25 kV 50 Hz ~ . To a large extent, the plan of the locomotive represents the domestic base platform of the electric locomotive 2ЭС6 , developed by the Sinara Group in connection with the Siemens integrated power transmission.
The main design of the locomotive (with the exception of the electrical equipment) corresponds to the RŽD series 2ЭС10. The most important difference is the equipment with the recuperation brake instead of the combination recuperation brake - resistance brake on the 2ЭС10. In addition, some innovations compared to domestic constructions were applied to the locomotive, such as the roof equipment with the use of high-voltage rails, and massive insulators replaced the more compact high-voltage cables.
The locomotive is also equipped with the following equipment:
- Application of a microprocessor system of control called МПСУиД ( MPSUiD ); this includes the function of registering parameters, diagnostics with the transfer of data via the channel to the radio.
- Equipping with modular engine driver's cabs with a new design and improved ergonomic and hygienic parameters.
- Reducing the consumption of electrical energy through the use of light emitting diodes for lighting.
The locomotive is designed to work with multiple controls and to work on one section alone.
