R. Scott Bakker

Richard Scott Bakker (born February 2, 1967 in Simcoe , Ontario ) is an English-speaking Canadian writer .

Life

Bakker grew up as the son of a tobacco grower. He studied English at the University of Western Ontario . He also holds a Masters degree in Theory and Criticism . Bakker then spent some time in Nashville to do a PhD in philosophy at Vanderbilt University , but currently lives in London, Ontario .

Bakker is the author of the fantasy novel trilogy The Prince of Nothing (published in Germany under the title Der Krieg der Propheten by Klett-Cotta Verlag ), which was very well received by critics. This is followed by the tetralogy The Aspect-Emperor . Bakker has also published two thrillers so far .
