The RS Feva is a dinghy for two children or teenagers. Paul Handley designed the boat in 2002 and since then the class has established itself particularly in the UK. The Feva has been recognized as an international class by the ISAF since 2003 . World championships have been held every year since 2010, and in 2015 around 160 crews took part in the world championship in Travemünde .

Technical details

In addition to a mainsail and jib, the RS Feva also has a gennaker . The mainsail is available in two sizes and is designed as a foil sail as standard. The boat is designed for two people with a crew weight of 60-100 kilos. The cockpit is self-draining. The fuselage is made of PE sandwich panels. The dinghy has no trapeze. The only manufacturer is the British shipyard "RS Sailing".

concept

The target group of the boat are young people who have outgrown the Opti, but who are still too easy for advanced two-handed classes like the 29er. In contrast to the 29er, the Feva has a smaller sail area, no trapeze and the main sheet is deflected in the cockpit.

The aim of the Ukrainian designer Paul Handley was to design a modern dinghy. Sailing on the Feva should be fun, but the children in this class should also learn the boat feel and be introduced to the regatta sport. Due to the robust construction, the boat is also suitable for school use.
