Josef Ellers

Josef Ellers (* 1988 in Klagenfurt , Carinthia ) is an Austrian actor .

Life

After graduating from high school, Josef Ellers passed the stage maturity test ( musical ) and completed a bachelor's degree in acting at the Vienna Conservatory .

In 2005 he made his stage debut with the role of Friedrich von Trapp in the musical The Sound of Music at the Vienna Volksoper . In 2007 Piccolo followed in the operetta Im Weißen Rößl at the Wiener Kammerspiele . He then played various roles between 2010 and 2013 at the Rabenhof Theater in Vienna and at the Theater der Jugend in Vienna. At Thalhof Reichenau in the summer of 2013 he appeared as Philipp in Countess Mizzi and as the title hero in a stage version by Lieutenant Gustl .

From the 2013/14 season until 2016 he was a permanent member of the ensemble at the Theater in der Josefstadt . There he stepped u. a. as Gavrilo Princip in the world premiere of the play Die Schüsse von Sarajevo by Milan Dor and Stephan Lack , as Gustave in The Lady of the Camellias and as Victor in Georges Feydeau's Der Gockel . In 2016 he played the son Jean-Michel in the musical La Cage aux Folles in the Kammerspiele of the Theater in der Josefstadt .

In 2016 he made his debut at the Staatstheater am Gärtnerplatz in Munich as Janczy in the operetta Viktoria und ihr Husar , which he sang and played there until 2018. In the 2017/18 season he was a guest at the Klagenfurt City Theater as the son of a king in the world premiere of the musical Rumpelstilz! . In the 2018/19 season he appeared at the Klagenfurt City Theater as the title hero in the children's play and Christmas fairy tale Jannick and the Sun Thief by Henry Mason . In 2019 he appeared at the Haag Theater Summer as Lucio in the Shakespeare comedy Maß für Maß .

Since 2017 he has also worked in several productions of the Viennese off-stage " Bronski & Grünberg ". He also appears regularly in schools and other venues in German-speaking countries with the monologue #Werther , a dramatization of Goethe's epistolary novel The Sorrows of Young Werther .

Josef Ellers also worked in several film and TV productions. He had identified episode roles in the Austrian crime series SOKO Donau and Schnell . In the 11th season of the TV series SOKO Donau (2019), he again took on one of the episode roles as Toni Berger, who is hiding with his wife and child from his criminal grandfather ( Franz Buchrieser ). He was also in front of the camera for the historical crime series Liebermann (2019) produced by ZDF and ORF .

Josef Ellers lives in Vienna.
