Raúl Alberto Páez (* 26. May 1937 in Cordoba , Argentina ) is a former Argentine football player who spent most of his career at San Lorenzo de Almagro spent with the national team of his country at the FIFA World Cup 1962 took part.

Club career

Raúl Páez, born in 1937 in the Argentine city of Córdoba, began his active career as a football profile in 1958 at CA San Lorenzo de Almagro , historically the third largest club in Argentina's capital Buenos Aires . For San Lorenzo de Almagro, Raúl Páez played from 1958 for the next nine years until 1967 and completed 214 league games in the club's league team during this time. The season of 1959 ended in first place with seven points ahead of the second-placed Racing Club from the Partido Avellaneda . As the Argentine champion from 1959 you were eligible to start the Copa Libertadores 1960 , the first competition of its kind in South America, at that time still under the old name Copa Campeones de América . In the tournament, Raúl Páez failed with the team of coach José Barreiro only in the replay of the semi-finals against the Uruguayan representative and later first Copa Libertadores winner CA Peñarol , after EC Bahia from Brazil had previously been defeated. As a result, Raúl Páez could not qualify again for the Copa Libertadores with San Lorenzo . National team

In 1962, Raúl Páez made three international matches for the Argentine national football team. He played two of these three games as part of the 1962 World Cup in Chile .
