Radek Černý (born February 18, 1974 in Prague ) is a former Czech football player on the goalkeeping position .

Career

Černý began his career with Slavia Prague , between 1993 and 1995 he was loaned to SK České Budějovice and Tatran Poštorná. He did his military service at Union Cheb in 1995/96 . He then returned to Slavia, but was only number two behind Jan Stejskal for two years . It wasn't until 1998/99 that he passed Stejskal. After that he was a regular goalkeeper at Slavia for a long time and also made three appearances in the Czech national team .

In early 2005 he was loaned from Slavia to Tottenham Hotspur , where he is only a replacement for England goalkeeper Paul Robinson . In two seasons he only made three appearances in the Spurs jersey. In the summer of 2006 he was signed by the London club for two more years. In the 2006/07 season he remained without a role in the Premier League , unlike 2007/08.

In May 2008 Černý signed a two-year contract from July 1, 2008 with the Queens Park Rangers and was there straight away goalkeeper.

After one last season at Slavia Prague , Černý ended his active career in 2014.
