RADIUS is an international travel management network and a hotel room purchasing association with a focus on business travel . With an annual network turnover of 19 billion US dollars (2009), RADIUS is one of the world's largest companies of its kind.
The network is supported by the corporation WTT Inc. out. Outwardly, however, WTT appears under the name RADIUS ( WTT Inc. d / b / a RADIUS ). WTT is based in Bethesda , Maryland, USA . The company in its current form was formed in 1992 from the merger of two independent North American companies World Wide Travel Service (Little Rock, Arkansas) and Northwestern Travel Management (Minneapolis, Minnesota) to form Woodside Travel Trust , renamed RADIUS - The Global Travel Company in July 2000 .
Around 90 independent travel agency chains , mostly among the market leaders in their country, with around 3,300 sales outlets and 23,000 employees in around 80 countries are members of the network worldwide (2009). Among other things, the travel agency chain DERPART Reisevertrieb GmbH (REWE Group) and the Österreichisches Verkehrsbüro cooperate with RADIUS.
The largest cooperating hotel chains include Accor , Choice Hotels International , Hyatt , the InterContinental Hotels Group , Sol Meliá , Worldhotels (emerged from the sales organization of Steigenberger Hotels ) and the Wyndham Hotel Group . Around 25,000 customers (including around 20,000 companies) of RADIUS worldwide have access to around 30,000 houses in over 130 countries (as of 2009).
