NGC 1343 is a barred spiral galaxy of the Hubble type SBb / P in the constellation Cassiopeia in the northern sky . It is also known as the core ring galaxy , with a ring of intense activity formed by gas flowing into the core. The galaxy is estimated to be 106 million light years from the Milky Way and about 75,000 light years in diameter.
The object was discovered by William Herschel on October 11, 1787 .
