NGC 1319 is a lenticular galaxy of the Hubble type S0 / P in the constellation Eridanus in the southern sky . It is estimated to be 174 million light years from the Milky Way and about 65,000 light years in diameter.
In the same area of the sky are u. a. the galaxies NGC 1315 , NGC 1325 , NGC 1332 , IC 324 .
The object was discovered by the astronomer John Herschel on November 13, 1835.
