NGC 1303 is a lenticular galaxy of the Hubble type S0 in the constellation Eridanus in the southern sky . It is estimated to be 243 million light years from the Milky Way and about 60,000 light years in diameter.
In the same area of ​​the sky are u. a. the galaxies NGC 1285 and NGC 1286 .

The object was discovered by Heinrich d'Arrest on October 28, 1865.
