Radoslaw Nowakowski

Radosław Nowakowski (* 1955 in Kielce ) is a Polish author, translator, publisher and drummer.

Nowakowski studied architecture at the Technical University of Cracow , he played drums in the band Osjan and also worked with other musicians (including Włodzimierz Kiniorski ) and groups, in particular the Orkiestra Świętokrzyska . He is the founder of the Liberatorium publishing house . Only his own works appear there, and he creates every book himself, from the first draft to the binding. Most of his twenty books are written in Polish, English and Esperanto and have appeared in a total of around 200 numbered copies.

His books have been shown at exhibitions of Polish book art in Warsaw, Kielce, Posen, Krakow, Leipzig, Düsseldorf, Sofia, The Hague and Palo Alto, at the 4th ArtistBook International in New York (1997), at the Wexford Book Art Festival (1996, 1997, 1998) and The Artist's Book Fair London (1998) and are in collections including the Biblioteka Narodowa Warsaw, the libraries of the University of Łódź and Stanford University , the Book Art Museum in Łódź, the Wexford Arts Center and in domestic and foreign private households Collections. He was awarded the silver Gloria Artis Medal for cultural merit by the Polish Ministry of Culture .
