Włodzimierz Kiniorski (born July 15, 1952 in Zagnańsk ) is a Polish jazz musician ( saxophone , ney , percussion , vocals ) and composer, who is best known under the pseudonym Kinior .

Act

Kiniorski initially belonged to the rock band Brygada Kryzys . He worked with jazz musicians such as Tomasz Stańko , Urszula Dudziak , Tadeusz Sudnik , Bob Stewart and Michał Urbaniak and belonged to the groups Stan d'Art , Young Power and Antoni Gralaks Graal . He also toured with the Twinkle Brothers , with Mamadou Diouf and with Radosław Nowakowski as the duo KI-NO and made recordings with them. He won awards at the Jazz nad Odrą and Jazz Juniors festivals and at the Krzysztof Komeda competition. He also participated in multimedia projects by Krzysztof Knittel , Marcin Krzyżanowski , Piotr Bikont , Marek Chołoniewski and Paweł Dudziński .

As a composer he wrote drama music for the Witkiewicz Theater in Zakopane , the Stefan-Żeromski-Theater in Kielce , the Teatr Klinika Lalek in Wolimierz , the Powszechny-Theater in Warsaw and the Bücklein-Theater in Krakow and was composed for his music in 1999 awarded the golden mask. Kiniorski also composed music for documentaries such as Zdzisław Beksiński , Dalaj Lama and Andrzej Strumiłło and initiated the Flap People festival in Łódź .
