Radulf Beuleke

Radulf Werner Beuleke (* 1946 in Schleptrup , Bersenbrück district (today part of Bramsche ) ) is a German teacher and theater director.

Career

After graduating from high school, Beuleke completed a teaching degree and began teaching in 1969 at the Heilig-Geist-Schule in Osnabrück . After completing his postgraduate studies, he taught German, English and theater at the Carolinum grammar school in Osnabrück from 1973 until his retirement in July 2009 .

In 1977 he started as a choir singer at the Freilichtspiele Tecklenburg . He later became a choir speaker and a member of the board of the sponsoring association. In 1992 he took over the chairmanship of the association and became honorary director of the music theater. Under his leadership the stage developed artistically and organizationally. The stage and auditorium were redesigned and the theater work was professionalized. As artistic director in the mid-1990s, he pushed the program designing from spoken theater and operetta to musical productions. Since 1987 he has written the text version for all children's musicals that were performed at the Freilichtspiele Tecklenburg.

The stage won the Da Capo Award four times for the best short-term production of a musical in German-speaking countries: 2006 for Les Miserables , 2008 for Mozart , 2009 for Aida and 2010 for 3 Musketeers . With around 100,000 spectators annually, it is the largest open-air music theater in Germany.

From 1984 to 1992 Beuleke was chairman of the Bürgererschützenverein Tecklenburg from 1786. From 1992 on he also represented the interests of his colleagues as a member and from 1996 to 2006 as chairman of the staff council at the Carolinum grammar school in Osnabrück.

Honors

On November 23, 2009, he was awarded the Cross of Merit on Ribbon of the Federal Republic of Germany for services to the Westphalian cultural landscape .
