Raeto Raffainer (born January 1, 1982 in Wolhusen ) is a former Swiss ice hockey player and current official.

Career

Raffainer played in the youth movement of the EHC St. Moritz and later with HC Davos , for which he made his debut in the National League A (NLA) in the 2000/01 season . He attended the sports high school in Davos and was part of the first class there in 1997. In the course of his career he also played for the ZSC Lions , SC Bern , SC Rapperswil-Jona Lakers and HC Ambrì-Piotta in the NLA and played a total of 577 games in the highest league. He also came to seven full internationals.

During his last stint as a player with the GCK Lions in the National League B , Raffainer gained his first experience in training young players.In February 2015, he took up the position of director of the national teams at the Swiss Ice Hockey Federation , after having previously ended his playing career due to a concussion. During his tenure, the men's national team's vice world championship in Denmark in 2018, the semi-finals of the U20 national team at the 2019 World Cup and the quarter-finals of the female U18 national team at the 2019 World Cup took place. During the 2019 summer break, HC Davos known Raffainer's commitment as head of sport.
