Rafael Rossi

Rafael Rossi , actually Rafael Rossa (born December 28, 1896 in Mercedes , Buenos Aires Province , † December 24, 1982 in Buenos Aires ) was an Argentine composer and bandoneon player.

life and work

At the age of 16 Rossi came to Buenos Aires in 1912 to become a painter. Soon, however, his interest in music predominated, especially in Tango Argentino and to learn to play the bandoneon , and from 1914 he began to study at the Conservatory of José de Caro .

In 1919 Rossi finally settled in Buenos Aires and began a. a. to work with Jose Martínez . At the same time, he joined Francisco Canaro and Roberto Firpo the following year and played in their Orquesta típica. Many pieces that he composed during this period were played at the carnival ( Murga ).

Four days before his 86th birthday, Rafael Rossi died in Buenos Aires and found his final resting place there.
