Raffi Barsoumian

Raffi Barsoumian (born March 15 in Beirut , Lebanon ) is an American - Armenian actor .

Life

Barsoumian's parents were born and raised in the Armenian Quarter in Beirut, Lebanon. Raffi Barsoumian was also born in Beirut. When the family was only one year old, the family moved to Los Angeles , California due to the ongoing conflicts of the Lebanese Civil War . At home, the family spoke mostly Armenian and lived out the culture and customs of the Armenian people. Despite this closeness to his origins, he has only been to Armenia once in 2005 and visited the capital Yerevan with friends while studying at the Moscow Art Theater School in Moscow for a year. Barsoumian took an interest in acting in early childhood. At high school he took acting lessons for the first time. In 2006 he attended Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh , Pennsylvania , where he was a member of the theater company, and from 2009 the Globe Theater International Fellowship in London . He then studied at the Jacques Lecoq School in Paris . Barsoumian speaks fluent French to this day .

He first appeared in the short film Anarchy TV in 2011 . In the same year he appeared in an episode of the television series Navy CIS and in the short films The Portrait , Stray Course , Booth , 2012 in Metzarents and Misdirection and 2013 in Prima Vera . In 2014, he acted the main villain Markos in the fifth season of the series Vampire Diaries , a witcher risen from the dead. In The Code of 2019, he played the warrant officer Rami Ahmadi in 13 episodes .
