Ragnar Axelsson

Ragnar Axelsson (* 1958 in Iceland ) is an Icelandic photographer who mainly deals with nature photography .

Life

His photographs have been shown at many national and international exhibitions. In Germany, Ragnar Axelsson is known for his portfolio In Leicaworld, combined with the “Honorable Mention” for the Oskar Barnack Prize. Ragnar Axelsson lives in Reykjavík . Since 1976 he has been working for the newspaper Morgunblaðið .

Awards

  • The annual Icelandic Photojournalists Awards: over 20 awards, four times Photographer of the Year, Photographer of the Year and six times “Best Photo Story of the Year(Documentary Story of the Year).
  • Oskar Barnack Award ( Leica ), 2001. Honorable Mention.
  • Festival International de la Photo de Mer, Vannes , Grand Prix.
