Ragnar Kinzelbach

Ragnar Kinzelbach (born April 12, 1941 in Germersheim ) is professor emeritus for biology and ecology at the University of Rostock .

After studying zoology , botany , chemistry , geology , philosophy and education , he received his doctorate in Mainz in 1967; the habilitation followed in 1971.

From 2000 to 2002 he was President of the Society for Biological Systematics , from 2009 to 2011 Chairman of the German Society for the History and Theory of Biology . From 2000 to 2004 he set up Germany's largest neozoa database at the Institute for Biodiversity Research Rostock .

He has been retired since 2006.
