Ragnheiður Elín Árnadóttir

Ragnheiður Elín Árnadóttir (born September 30, 1967 ) is an Icelandic politician ( Independence Party ) and was Minister for Industry and Trade from 2013 to 2016, first in the Sigmundur Davíð Gunnlaugsson cabinet and then in the Sigurður Ingi Jóhannsson cabinet .

She was a member of the Icelandic parliament Althing from 2007 to 2016 . From 2007 to 2009 she represented the south-western constituency , and since 2009 the southern constituency . From 2009 to 2010 she was vice-chairwoman and from 2010 to 2012 chairwoman of the parliamentary group of the Independence Party.

From 2007 to 2013 Ragnheiður Elín was a member of the Icelandic delegation to the NATO Parliamentary Assembly ( North Atlantic Assembly ), from 2007 to 2009 as Chair and from 2009 to 2011 as Vice-Chair. In September 2016, she announced that she would withdraw from politics. She did not run for the general election in Iceland in 2016 .
