The Raiffeisenbank Schwandorf-Nittenau eG was a cooperative bank with headquarters in Schwandorf in Bavaria . In 2018 the bank merged with Volksbank Regensburg to form Volksbank Raiffeisenbank Regensburg-Schwandorf eG.

history

Raiffeisenbank Schwandorf-Nittenau eG was created from 25 individual cooperatives. The first of them was the Unterauerbach Loan Association, founded on March 15, 1896. From the Raiffeisenkasse Wiefelsdorf-Klardorf, founded on January 22nd, 1905, the Raiffeisenbank Schwandorf emerged on September 20th, 1966, through the relocation of the headquarters to Schwandorf and a renaming of the company. With the merger of the Raiffeisen banks Nittenau and Schwandorf on November 24, 1972, it became the Raiffeisenbank Schwandorf-Nittenau eG.

Probably the most important individual cooperative, which later became part of the Raiffeisenbank Schwandorf-Nittenau eG and gave it part of the name, was the Raiffeisenbank Nittenau, which was founded on January 17, 1897. It existed independently for 75 years, had the largest sales of goods and the strongest balance sheet total. It was therefore called the parent cooperative.
