Raimund Nowak

Raimund Nowak (* 1955 ) is a German politician ( Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen ).

Life

Raimund Nowak was state chairman of the Lower Saxony Greens from May 2003 to January 2009 . From 1986 to 2001 Raimund Nowak was involved in local politics in the Uelzen district . He was chairman of the green parliamentary groups in the city council of Uelzen and in the district council . From 1996 to 2002 he sat on the board of directors of Sparkasse Uelzen and headed the environmental committee of the city of Uelzen.

Nowak initiated Uelzen's participation in the EXPO 2000 world exhibition and implemented the Uelzen station 2000 - environmental and cultural station project with a sponsoring association. This project became known in particular because of the participation of the artist Friedensreich Hundertwasser . Since 2005 Nowak has been honorary chairman of the Uelzen Station 2000 Association, which looks after the cultural and tourist interests of the Hundertwasser station.

In regional politics, Raimund Nowak , who has lived in Hanover since 2002, was particularly involved in European and local politics. In 2004, the first cross-border regional association between Lower Saxony district associations and the Dutch sister party GroenLinks was founded. The campaign Stadt, Land, Grün is an exemplary state initiative for the coordination of local political activities, which was initiated by Nowak.

Nowak placed a special focus of his work on the intercultural opening of the party. He is co-initiator of a diversity initiative by the Lower Saxony Greens, which is aimed specifically at people with an immigrant background and a founding member of the Festival of Philosophy Festival of Philosophy .

Raimund Nowak held the post of state chairman on a voluntary basis. Professionally, he has been head of the policy department in the mayor's office of the state capital of Hanover since 2007 . Since June 2009 Raimund Nowak has also been Managing Director of the Hanover-Braunschweig-Göttingen-Wolfsburg GmbH metropolitan region . This company is supported by municipalities, the state of Lower Saxony, universities and companies. The aim is to initiate innovative cooperation projects in the areas of mobility and talent acquisition.
