Peter Nickl (born August 26, 1958 in Munich ) is a German author , editor and lecturer in philosophical anthropology .

Life

Peter Nickl passed his Abitur in 1977 and was then accepted into the Maximilianeum Foundation . From 1978 he studied law and German literature at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich . During a scholarship from 1980 to 1981 at the Collegio Ghislieri in Pavia , he studied philosophy with Franco Alessio (1925–1999), Fulvio Papi (* 1930) and Mario Vegetti , and from 1981 to 1982 continued his philosophical studies at the Ludwig Maximilians University Munich continued. In 1985 he wrote his Magister Artium on "The 'Ethica' of Peter Abelard" with Werner Beierwaltes .

In 1991 Nickl did his doctorate with Robert Spaemann with a thesis on Jacques Maritain and in the same year began as a research assistant at the Research Institute for Philosophy in Hanover with Reinhard Löw . After Reinhard Löw's death in 1994, Nickl switched to Richard Schenk . In 1995 Nickl was given a lectureship in philosophical anthropology at the Philosophical Department of the University of Hanover.

With a grant from the German Research Foundation , Nickl completed his habilitation at the University of Regensburg in 2000. He began teaching there in 2001, and from 2003 to 2010 he was also professor at the Philosophical Seminar of the Leibniz University of Hanover.

In 2008 Peter Nickl directed the first "Festival of Philosophy" in Germany. In 2009 he was appointed adjunct professor at the University of Regensburg . From 2010 to 2012 he represented Thomas Leinkauf at the University of Münster . Since 2013 Peter Nickl has been a lecturer at the Leibniz Endowed Professorship in Hanover and at the German Studies Department.

Peter Nickl is a member of the Hanover Art Association (HKV).
