Raimund Veit

Raimund Veit (born August 30, 1785 in Großlellenfeld , † September 22, 1857 on his estate Stadelheim near Giesing ) was a pioneer of agricultural science in Bavaria in the first half of the 19th century.

Veit, son of a teacher, studied camera science at the University of Landshut and appears to have obtained his doctorate there in 1812. From 1820 to 1823 he administered the Weihenstephan State Estate . Since 1824 he worked as a professor at the agricultural school in Schleissheim . In 1832 he had to ask for his retirement for health reasons. From 1833 he taught at the district agricultural school in Augsburg . In 1843 he was called back to Schleissheim. Until 1852 he was director of this educational establishment, which was elevated to the “Agricultural Central School”. Veit is the author of several handbooks and textbooks.
