Rainer A. Bast

Rainer A. Bast (* 1953 ) is a German philosopher , psychologist and professor at the Heinrich Heine University in Düsseldorf .

Life

Bast received his doctorate in 1986 from the University of Trier on Martin Heidegger's concept of science. In 1996 he completed his habilitation on Ernst Cassirer's cultural philosophy at the Heinrich Heine University in Düsseldorf . In 1988 he passed the career examination for the higher library service. Bast's philosophical focus is on Aristotle , Immanuel Kant , Rudolf Eucken , Neo-Kantianism with Heinrich Rickert , existential philosophy and business ethics . Bast has been the head of the Heinrich Rickert Research Center since 2000.

In psychology, the focus is on communication , coaching , personality, developmental and social psychology .

Bast also teaches general order and documentation, works as a trainer and science advisor and runs a philosophical-psychological practice in Düsseldorf, where he tries to combine psychology and philosophy.
