Rainer Beckmann (born July 12, 1941 in Hanover ) is a German politician .

education and profession

Born in the middle of the Second World War in 1941, Rainer Beckmann first attended elementary and secondary school and then completed an apprenticeship as a chimney sweep . After his journeyman's examination in 1959, he attended college in 1962 and founded a chimney construction company in the same year. Before he moved into the state parliament for the first time, he was the managing director and management consultant.

politics

Beckmann has been a member of the CDU since 1968 . He is a member of the district board of the CDU Hannover-Stadt and chairman of the local association Hannover-Badenstedt / Davenstedt .

From 1968 to 2003 Rainer was councilor in Hanover.

Beckmann was a member of the Lower Saxony state parliament from 1982 to 1986, from 2001 to 2008 and from 2011 to 2013 .

Beckmann was involved in various committees, organizations and public institutions, including as a City Parents' Council and as an honorary judge at the Hanover Administrative Court. He worked as chairman of the supervisory board of Union Boden , as a member of the administrative board of Stadtsparkasse Hannover and as a member of the state association of Lower Saxony house, apartment and landowners.
