Rainer Georg Bovermann (born October 11, 1957 in Dortmund ) is a political scientist and member of the SPD in the state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia . Rainer Bovermann is married and has one child.

Career

In 1977 Rainer Bovermann passed his Abitur . From 1978 to 1985 he studied social science and history at the Ruhr University in Bochum . He passed his first state examination for teaching at secondary levels I and II in 1985. Since then he has been working as a political scientist at the Ruhr University in Bochum with various functions, including research assistant, senior assistant and head of a research project. In 1992 he received his doctorate. rer. soc. In 1999 he completed his habilitation in political science. In 2005 Rainer Bovermann was awarded the title of adjunct professor .

Rainer Bovermann has been a member of the SPD since 1984. From 1992 to 2002 he was deputy chairman of the local SPD association Hattingen- Welper . From 1994 to 2000 he was a member of the executive committee of the SPD sub-district Ennepe-Ruhr. From 1999 to 2001 he was elected to the District Committee for West Westphalia of the SPD. From 2002 to 2012 Rainer Bovermann was chairman of the Hattingen city association of the SPD. Since 2002 he has been chairman of the local SPD association Hattingen Welper. In 2004 he was elected deputy chairman of the SPD sub-district Ennepe-Ruhr. He has been a member of the Ennepe-Ruhr district council since 1994, where he has chaired the district school committee since 2004.

Since June 8, 2005, Rainer Bovermann has been a member of the state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia. From 2005 to 2009 he was a member of the Committee on Local Policy and Administrative Structural Reform and a full member of the Committee on Schools and Further Education. From 2006 to 2008 he was chairman of the study commission “Chances for Children - Framework Conditions and Control Options”. After the election to the state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia in the 16th electoral period , he is chairman of the main committee, a full member of the election review committee and the committee for innovation, science and research. In addition, Bovermann is chairman of the commission for the reform of the North Rhine-Westphalian constitution (constitutional commission). Bovermann is a member of the Board of Trustees for the House of History in North Rhine-Westphalia .
