Rainer Decker

Rainer Decker (* 1949 ) is a German historian specializing in the inquisition .

It was in 1976 at the University of Bochum on studies on the composition of the upper class in Paderborn from its origins to the beginning of the 17th century doctorate . In the meantime, Decker is known throughout Europe as an expert on the subject of witch tracking . He particularly looked at the witch trials in Germany and Italy . Among other things, he was involved in various television projects as a scientific consultant.

He taught at the Goerdeler-Gymnasium Paderborn and was head of history at the study seminar for teaching posts in Paderborn .

In 2008 Decker was elected a full member of the Historical Commission for Westphalia .
